Dear Robbie M. Lightfoot Early Learning Center Families and Community Members,

 Robbie M. Lightfoot

I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our families for the upcoming school year! I am excited and honored to share in your child's growth and development. Our program offers 2 ½ hours of developmentally appropriate engaging activities for your child each day. Our staff members are highly qualified to support your child's needs through daily enrichment. We consider our families partners in education and provide many opportunities for your involvement throughout the school year. As a team, I am confident that all students will learn and develop in a safe, nurturing environment that allows them to reach their unique potential.

As the principal, I look forward to diligently serving our families. Prior to joining this amazing community of learners, I worked as an Early Childhood Educator for 12 years. I am excited to continue my path with the school community, families and young children in Waukegan. I was raised in Waukegan and am a proud graduate of Waukegan High School! I know that each child can achieve their goals if we set high expectations academically, socially and emotionally. I have included several ways that all families can collaborate to achieve the goals of success.

  • Please send your child on time to school each day. Call our attendance line if your child is ill or will be absent.
  • Make sure your child has at least eight hours of sleep each night.
  • Check your child's backpack each day for communication from the school.
  • Contact your child's teacher if needed by telephone, email or notes.
  • Attend school events, parent/teacher conferences and classroom events. We love our volunteers!
  • Your encouragement means the world to your child! Celebrate their accomplishments!

Finally, as members of the Early Childhood Partners in Collaboration, I am confident that we can achieve more together. Your outstanding efforts are of great value and I'm honored that you have allowed us such a wonderful opportunity to educate your children. I look forward to greeting our students on the first day of school, Monday, August 14. Be sure to attend our Meet and Greet,Thursday August 10 at 4:00p.m.  We will discuss our family involvement opportunities, events, school procedures and more! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Nicole Session
